Government Affairs Activity

Our Guiding Principles in any action is based on the following:

• Autism is a national emergency
• Autism is a treatable dynamic multi-organ disease process
• Agency preference statement and/or banning of thimerosal/mercury is necessary
• Shift research focus from genetics to environment
• Leveraged public-private research agenda driven by researchers

Our current objectives include:

• Continued monitoring, support and initiation of legislation to improve ASD lives and protect children from developing neurodevelopmental disorders, as they relate to our mission;

• Support of Federal research efforts, such as those by the Department of Defense and the NIH Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee;

• Monitor and disseminate information regarding Federal agency activities to reduce mercury exposure.
